AU State of Volunteerism in Africa Report - Zambia Workshop

This report documents the transformative outcomes of a high-level workshop held in Zambia, convening key stakeholders from the African Union, youth networks, and volunteer-involving organizations to advance the integration of volunteerism into national development and youth employment strategies across Africa. The workshop explored practical pathways for mainstreaming volunteerism within national policy frameworks, examining successful African models where volunteer action has driven skills development, job creation, community resilience, and progress toward Agenda 2063 and the Sustainable Development Goals. Participants deliberated on policy recommendations, institutional mechanisms, resource mobilization, and strategic partnerships to scale volunteerism's impact on youth employability and national development.
