We are a Youth-Led Non-Profit Organization that builds community-driven approaches for sustainable development. It was incorporated in Malawi as a local not-for-profit organization in 2018 June and registered under Company Limited by Guarantee; RG No: 1011976, and CONGOMA: C1628/2022, registered under National Youth Council of Malawi; RG No: SR/002/2021 and European Union – PIC: 892610103. Main Goal:>To promote: educational opportunities in underserved and underfunded communities; girls and women’s rights; access to primary healthcare; and food security. COFO’s Mission is to work with community to sustainably improve their quality of life. Our vision is to Inform, Empower, Mobilize, and Engage citizens for a high quality of life, including but not limited to high standards of education, gender equality, health, and livelihoods. Community Forum has three main areas of operation: 1. Health and wellbeing – We provide community healthcare services such as the promotion of good nutrition, SRHR, HIV/AIDS services and maternal and child health services in rural areas. We also promote physical activities to combat mental health issues, refrain from sexual violence and combat non-communicable diseases. 2. Education and youth – We provide school resources and the capacity for volunteer community teachers to improve literacy and numeracy in primary schools and kindergartens in Malawi. Moreover, we have established sports programs in schools for the youth and adolescents in order to improve their academics as well as health and wellbeing. 3. Livelihoods – We educate individuals and communities on how to improve nutrition, income and environmental health by providing quality farm inputs and demonstrate how locally available resources can meet human needs, while improving the quality of life of people and environment.
