BACKGROUND: Patriotic Empowerment Network Sierra Leone (P.E.N-SiL), geared towards increasing and improving the Environmental, social, economic, education, health and legal strength of patriotic citizens in Sierra Leone, established on the 2nd March, 2017. It is apolitical, non-religious, and relatively non-profit organization that deals with the empowerment of children and young people in being substantial patriots, thereby taking center stages in creating positive impacts towards the nation’s development processes. AIMS:  To create positive impacts in nation building processes.  To empower, educate and inspire children and young people and all citizens in the importance of being very responsible patriots.  To ensure that these people occupy the center stages in the development of Sierra Leone.  To prepare the mindsets of these people in line with national cohesion.  To unify all regions, and enhances the values of national integration.  To serve as an entity for both inclusion and tolerance in the nation building process.  To complement government’s efforts in making Sierra Leone a better place.  To ensure multi-dimensional mobilizations for the nation’s sustenance.  To promote the relevance of non-violence to children and young people across the country.  To raise awareness about environmental safety, gender based issues, good and accessible health education. OBJECTIVES: To jointly work with citizens in schools, universities, vocational training centers, communities and the nation at large in the importance of patriotism, empowerment and national integration. To build positive and imaginative skills in the mindsets of all citizens, more especially that of children and young people. To ensure a long-lasting peace and stability in Sierra Leone through community based and nationwide programs. To promote community and nationwide integration, regardless of colour, gender, tribe, physical state of being, financial status, religion etc. To capacitate the less privileged and isolated individuals and groups in Sierra Leone. Doing advocacy, outreach programs, and community mobilization for the wellbeing of our beloved nation. To promote gender based education. To promote environmental safety education. Encouraging entrepreneurship. MISSION STATEMENT: Facilitating needs and values of patriotism, empowerment and National Cohesion to all our beloved citizens for the betterment of Sierra Leone. VISION STATEMENT: Seeing Sierra Leoneans jointly working from different backgrounds and from different works of life without sentiments, and upholding the peace and stability, recreational values, norms and traditions of the country, as well as children and young people taking the lead in executing their values, talents and skills in nation building. GOALS:  Seeing Sierra Leonean citizens actively embracing and encouraging continual national inclusion.  Getting a nation that is violence, tribalism, regionalism, nepotism, political intimidation, injustice free.  Citizens taking the centre stage for nation’s development.
