About Abebech Gobena Yehetsanat Kebekabena Limat Mahiber (AGOHELMA)

Abebech Gobena Yehetsanat Kebekabena Limat Mahiber (AGOHELMA) undertakes to provide protection, housing, food, clothing, education, medical assistance and other basic necessities to those vulnerable children/youth and provides many other community based projects.

AGOHELMA is a not for profit, non-political and non-religious, non-governmental humanitarian development organisation founded in 1980 during the time of severe drought and famine, by Dr Abebech Gobena. Originally founded upon providing care for children who have lost parental care, providing them with a safe, secure and nurturing environment to grow, AGOHELMA also participates in programs beyond this. Programs now include activities such as mother and child health, supplementary feeding, formal and non-formal education, vocational education and training, food security and many income generating activities to assist in funding the Association.
